Retail Assistant – PAVEMENT Store
Key Responsibilities
Store Operations:
- Work independently to manage day-to-day store operations
- Open and close the store (key holder responsibility)
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards (vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning mirrors and shelves)
Visual Merchandising & Stock Management:
- Replenish stock and maintain rails and displays to the highest standard
- Merchandise the store and refresh window displays regularly
- Organise and maintain the stock room
- Handle brand deliveries and collections (some lifting required)
Customer Service:
- Provide friendly, personalised service to all customers
- Proactively engage with customers to understand their needs, budget, and preferences
E-commerce Support:
- Fulfill online orders: quality control, wrapping, packing, and labeling
- Process returns: quality control and restocking
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Qualities:
- Positive, can-do attitude with strong initiative
- Confident working independently with minimal supervision
- Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused
- Proactive mindset – able to identify and complete tasks during quieter periods
- Excellent attention to detail
- Genuine interest in fashion and styling
Working Hours
- Core hours: Saturdays and / or Sundays (with potential for additional shifts)
- Additional cover: Ad-hoc shifts to cover team leave (discussed and agreed in advance)
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting rate: £13.85 per hour (first 3 months)
- Payment terms: Monthly invoicing, paid within 7 calendar days of receipt
- Staff discount: 20% on store stock (excluding sale or return brands)
- SOR brands available at cost price
- Rate review: Following successful completion of probationary period
Terms of Employment
- Probationary period: 3 months, with performance review at completion
- Notice period:
- 2 weeks during probationary period
- 4 weeks following probationary period
- Trial shifts: Training/shadowing shifts required before commencement (weekday and weekend)
